Message from Jan Moran, Chairman and President

Sharing his good fortune and creating opportunities for others to reach their greatest potential was always very important to my husband. I am so happy to announce, in honor of what would have been Jim’s 100th birthday on August 8, The Jim Moran Foundation has committed more than $10 million in grants to prepare and empower individuals and families for healthy, self-sufficient and bright futures.

From providing affordable housing for struggling families to helping vulnerable seniors preserve their independence, these 14 special grants reach beyond our traditional funding and include new, current and legacy relationships that meet the ever-changing needs of our community. I hope you will be encouraged by the good work of our partners by clicking on the website links below and inspired by the perseverance and resiliency of the clients they serve.

Lighthouse of Broward County offers training and employment opportunities for visually impaired adults.

Grant recipients:

As Jim said, “When we look around in our communities, we often find there are so many who need someone to care.” Thanks to dedicated, compassionate staff and volunteers at our partner organizations -- and families and neighbors who take care of one another -- together we are making a real difference today and for generations to come.

My very best to you,
