The Arc Launches a Free Online Art Program to the Public
Riviera Beach, Fla. – There’s a true artist in everyone! The Arc of Palm Beach County invites the public, especially those with disabilities, to express their creativity through the free virtual art program, OurArtLife. Nationwide, the program teaches fundamental art skills through online “how-to” videos, inspires people to share their personal work, and connects them with artists of all abilities. Select artwork is shared with the public through an online art gallery on OurArtLife.org.
OurArtLife, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and The Jim Moran Foundation, strives to recognize people with disabilities as significant contributors to the arts, and to society at large. The program provides opportunities for any individual to build their artistic skills, with special attention paid to the learning needs of people with disabilities.
“Access to high-quality arts and cultural activities helps individuals to thrive, providing an outlet for the expression of thoughts, emotions, and creativity,” said Kimberly McCarten, The Arc’s president and CEO. “Art helps us to achieve an appreciation of others’ unique qualities and perspectives, building acceptance and inclusion.”
To share your creations and to connect with other artists in the OurArtLife community, join OurArtLife’s Facebook group.
