The Jim Moran Foundation Awards $200,000 Grant to House of Hope

Funding will support the non-profit’s Road to Independence program

Fort Lauderdale, FL – House of Hope, the leading non-profit provider of substance abuse and mental health programming in Broward County, has been awarded a $200,000 grant from The Jim Moran Foundation, with a mission to improve the quality of life for the youth and families of Florida through the support of innovative programs and opportunities that meet the ever-changing needs of the community.

House of Hope will receive $100,000 each year for two years to support the Road to Independence program. Now in its fifth year, Road to Independence will assist an additional 600 House of Hope residents this year, who are recovering from addiction, achieve self-sufficiency. These residents will meet with employment specialists to prepare for the workforce and secure employment once they’ve overcome their substance abuse challenges. Individualized case management and support will help House of Hope clients with GED preparation, vocational training programs and securing stable and affordable housing.

Our mission is to give second chances to the men and women on their recovery journey, and this grant will help us fulfill that goal.”
