Fort Lauderdale, FL.—Fantasy Theatre Factory has been awarded a $57,500 grant from The Jim Moran Foundation to support their Bringing Books to Children program. The program -- a collaboration among The Jim Moran Foundation, Broward County School Board, Broward Cultural Division and Fantasy Theatre Factory -- will serve 22 Broward County Title-1 public elementary schools and will reach nearly 5,000 children with award winning children's theatre and a free book giveaway.

Bringing Books to Children serves elementary students grades Pre K – 1st grade in Broward Title-1 elementary schools, providing them with a free, fun, high-quality, educational show to get them excited about school and reading. The featured play in this season's program is a new reading incentive and bullying prevention original show entitled Whales, Magic and Cheese…Oh My! After each show, there is an interactive assembly to further the program’s impact. All children who see the show are then given a book featured in the show as a gift to take home; Fantasy Theatre Factory and The Jim Moran Foundation expect to give away about 5,000 books this year.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with The Jim Moran Foundation," says Larry Fields, Fantasy Theatre Factory's Producing Artistic Director. "Bringing Books to Children is such a unique early education program that brings free theatre programming and books to Broward's Title-1 elementary schools." He added, “We're so thankful that The Jim Moran Foundation has made access to this unique kind of Arts-in-Education programming a priority for the community."
