Deerfield Beach, Fla. - For her decades of unwavering service to homeless individuals and families, Frances Esposito has been named the 2014 recipient of The Jim Moran Foundation Award.

With this honor, Frances received a $50,000 unrestricted grant to Broward Partnership - the nonprofit of her choice - and a bronze award created by South Florida artist and sculptor George Gadson of an open book with a child climbing a ladder supported by an outstretched hand.

"Frances has been and continues to be an incredible advocate for those who are hungry, hurting and lacking permanent, safe housing," said Jan Moran, chairman and president of The Jim Moran Foundation. "She treats each person with respect and leads with a compassionate heart -- and I know my husband, Jim, would be proud that his Foundation is honoring her with this special award."

Frances has been dedicated to reducing and preventing homelessness for nearly 30 years. She is currently chief executive officer of Broward Partnership - an organization that provides comprehensive services to homeless men, women and families in South Florida. Under her leadership, the nonprofit has helped more than 20,000 individuals and families by providing a safe haven and guiding them on a path toward self-sufficiency. Previously, Frances served as chief operating officer of Camillus House, a Miami-based social service agency, and director of Miami's Community Homeless Assistance Project.

"Receiving The Jim Moran Foundation Award was truly a humbling experience and one that will long be warmly remembered by my friends and family," said Frances Esposito. "I was very fortunate to have known Mr. Moran and to have celebrated in the accomplishments made possible by his spirit of philanthropy. I look forward to making this generous donation serve as a catalyst for new ideas that will propel innovation and transformation at the Broward Partnership."

The Jim Moran Foundation established this annual award in 2003 to acknowledge those who have a history of giving back to their community through active service and personal commitment. The individual must exemplify the characteristics of the mission of The Foundation, reflect proven accomplishments that address real community needs and/or concerns, and inspire others to embrace civic and charitable responsibility in meeting the needs of their community.
